Building careers, homes and community.

Hands-on training right here in our Northwest Central Minnesota region. Trades are a way to use your hands, your mind and your strengths. Going into a trade isn’t just another job, it’s a strong career choice and about more than just learning a trade - it’s about growing a future - for yourself and future generations.

Construction Trades

Why the trades? Education is affordable, scholarships are available, class sizes are often small and the median salary for construction positions can be between $56,000 & $79,500. These are just some of the things a trades education and career can offer.

When you learn hands-on construction and carpentry skills, you not only learn a trade, you also gain mentorship, personal growth, and confidence. You aren’t just building homes and structures, but connection, purpose and community pride.

Work in the trades is also open to all - women, men, young adults and elders, people of all races and income.

Get Started

How? One of the best parts about joining the trades is the there are a few ways you can get trained in the trades.

One pathway is an Apprenticeship with over 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and 144 hours of related classroom instruction, which gives plenty of time and opportunity to develop your skills. You do not need any specific construction skills to start, you just have to come willing to learn.

Another pathway is through training programs at our regional technical or community colleges or private universities.
